2024 Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering at the 2024 Elevation Music Festival offers numerous benefits that extend beyond the excitement of the event itself. Each volunteer not only plays a crucial role in ensuring the festival runs smoothly but also enjoys special perks. For each shift completed, volunteers are rewarded with two complimentary beers or one cocktail, allowing them to unwind and soak in the festival’s vibrant atmosphere. Additionally, volunteers receive a complimentary meal per shift, providing both nourishment and a taste of the local cuisine. This opportunity not only enhances the festival experience by connecting volunteers with music and community but also offers a chance to meet new people, gain valuable event management experience, and create unforgettable memories at one of the most anticipated music events of the year.

2024 Zero Waste Attendant

DETAILS:

As a Zero Waste Attendant Volunteer at the Elevation Music Festival, your main responsibility is to help minimize the environmental impact of the festival by ensuring waste is properly disposed of and as much as possible is recycled or composted. Here's a rundown of some specific tasks you might perform:

  1. Waste Management: The core of your role will be overseeing the collection, sorting, and disposal of waste. You will help attendees properly dispose of their waste into recycling, compost, or trash bins, ensuring that items are correctly sorted to maximize recycling and composting.

  2. Education: You'll play an important role in educating attendees about the festival's zero waste policy. This could include explaining what items can be recycled or composted, demonstrating proper disposal techniques, and discussing the importance of zero waste efforts.

  3. Monitoring Waste Stations: You will be responsible for supervising waste stations throughout the festival grounds, ensuring they remain clean, well-organized, and properly used.

  4. Waste Station Maintenance: Regularly emptying bins when they get full, replacing bin liners, and keeping the area around waste stations tidy will also be part of your role.

  5. Recycling Initiatives: Depending on the festival's programs, you might assist with special recycling initiatives, like collecting and disposing of cigarette butts separately for specialized recycling.

  6. Reporting: You may need to keep track of the volumes of waste collected, reporting back to the festival organizers on the success of the zero waste efforts.

  7. Post-Festival Clean-Up: After the festival, you'll likely assist with a larger cleanup operation, ensuring that any waste left behind by attendees is properly disposed of and that the venue is left as clean as possible.

Being a Zero Waste Attendant Volunteer is an important role, as you're helping to protect the environment and maintain the sustainability of the festival. It requires a proactive mindset, strong communication skills for educating attendees, and a willingness to perform manual tasks like handling and sorting waste.
